BUCKLAND COACHES
HISTORIC VEHICLES
These are TE7870, a 1929 Dennis ES 29-seater single deck bus and GRP260D, a 1966 Bristol 39-seat coach
TE7870 was built for Accrington Corporation and ran between Accrington and Blackburn. In 1954 it was sold to a showman who converted it to live in before abandoning it, completely worn out, near Andover in 1954. We returned it to use in 1989 and it is now one of the oldest buses in the UK still licensed to carry passengers. It is once again in the livery of Accrington Corporation. With its 40 hp engine, our motor coach can ascend most hills. For comfort and safety it is fitted with pneumatic tyres and upholstered seats and is equipped with brakes on all four wheels. Travelling rugs are available on request. The Passenger Saloon is heated and electrically lit. Speeds in excess of 30 mph are occasionally achieved. A unique and enchanting way to see the Suffolk Countryside.

GRP260D was built for United Counties Omnibus Co Ltd for their express service between Cambridge/Peterborough and Cheltenham. We acquired it in 1989 and restored it to service. It has been repainted in the livery of Accrington Corporation which we have adopted for our historic vehicles. Powered by a Gardner 8.4 litre diesel engine it cruises at 50 mph. The seats are quite luxurious with ample legroom.
